A while back I received yet another box of goodies for the Hospice Quilts. There was no note in the box, and no return address. Such generosity! So whoever you are dear donor, thank you, thank you, thank you!
There were TWO jelly rolls…
There were geometric print strips, enough to make a quilt…
And, there were string blocks, sewn on batting and decorative stitches along the strips. I could not contain myself. I went ahead and put the blocks together. A backing will be cut shortly, some quilting and binding done and voila! A Hospice quilt for 2019. There was also a pile of the strips that were used in the string blocks – many, many strips.
And if that weren’t enough – a pile of 5″ blocks. Oh what fun these will be to play with! Thank you just doesn’t seem adequate. Please check back dear donor to see what is made in the coming year with your generous donation.
AND another wonderful box arrived from Debbie H. She started this quilt some time ago, had it tucked away, and generously sent it to our group for finishing. Now here’s the kicker – this quilt is hand pieced and the quilting that was begun is by hand! We will gladly finish it…but…the quilting will most probably be done by machine. What made this donation even more fun is that she included the templates she used for the pattern – templates she made!
PLEASE NOTE: Donations to our Hospice group have been a wonderful blessing. We now have more than enough to work on and will NOT be accepting any more donations until further notice. Thank you!
