Brrr!! It is definitely winter! A good day to stay inside, sew and check out the Winter Blues Blog Hop hosted by Carla from Creatin’ in the Sticks. Thank you Carla! And today is my day…
When I joined the hop I already had a blue project in the works. I would have loved to have done something more creative, but this is a Hospice quilt and it’s the first one for 2020. Starting off the year with a finished Hospice quilt is a good way to get this year’s ministry going!
The Hospice quilts are backed with fleece – cozy, warm and soft!
I really like variations of blue fabrics and have made several quilts with blue – see?…
SnEW is glad to be in the warm studio and wants know – Do you have a favorite color to sew with? A winner will be randomly chosen on Monday from the comments and win a batik surprise! (Lower 48 US only)
Be sure to hop on over to all the Winter Blues today!

I love sewing with blues. Also enjoy sewing with purples. Honestly, I enjoy sewing with most colors, except I don’t like using murky browns and murky greens. I like your quilts. They are pretty.
Chasing away the winter blues making a blue quilt for hospice is so heartwarming. It’s a beauty! Please don’t add me to your draw. I’m in Canada. Just wanted to say thank you for being part of the hop. 😄 Carol
I think it’s “sew” cool you make quilts for hospice. Awesome! Bless your heart! My favorite color to quilt with is bluel, any shade of blue. I enjoy blue. Have a great day! angielovesgary2 atgmail dotcom
Pretty! Great Hospice quilt. I do like lots of blue, but purple is a personal favorite. And pink. lol.
As a matter of fact, I sew with a lot of blue, too! I like your quilt, and it is so lovely for hospice. I just found out tonight that a friend will be going to hospice with stage 4 brain cancer. I hope they have lovely quilts like this, too.
Thanks for the mini blue quilt show! Love them all!
Gorgeous quilt! I’m sure it will be welcomed by whomever uses it.
I sew with a lot of green. I love your quilt!
Love all your variation of blue quilts. I have more blue scraps and strings in my stash so I must sew with blue more than other colors but I love mixing blue, purple and green. Thanks for sharing.
Anything in the teal/turquoise range! Love seeing the quilts.
Beautiful. The hospice quilt is my favorite, i love the colors. I really dont have a favorite color to sew with but I do prefer to make quilts with earth tones.
This is a beautiful quilt and will be loved by the dear one who receives it. Love the idea that it has a fleece backing. All of your “blue” work is amazing. The only color I don’t work with unless I have to is brown.
I love blue and batiks, so that is a win!! I also loved your hospice quilt and love that you are so generous. This is a difficult time for families and loved ones, and your generous heart will lift their pain. Thanks for sharing.
I love blue. The hospice quilts are fantastic. Great job and keep on sewing.
I think your quilt is beautiful and some hospice patient will feel very loved.
Beautiful quilts and the Hospice patients will feel very comforted. My favorite color is blue!
Love your ministry quilt!
Purple is my favorite!
Love all your blue projects. I love the layout of colors on your hospice quilt. I’m sore someone will feel warm and loved with your quilt.
Your blue quilts are beautiful! Sewing in the winter is my best time for sitting behind the machine when the outdoors isn’t calling for weeds to be pulled in the garden and the lawn doesn’t need mowing. I love sewing with purples! I have a good stash of them and try to put a bit of purple in everything I sew!

First off, I’m so jealous that you have a clothesline. Hubby ripped mine down years ago by driving under it with his truck and never put it back up. ;-( Your hospice quilts are such a labor of love and comfort for someone’s last days. Bless you. I also love using fleece on the backs of my quilts. It makes them so warm and lightweight. You will find purple and lime greens in my stash mostly.
Such fabulous quilts!
I love purple and use
it whenever I can.
Carla from Utah
Your hospice quilt is lovely and will definitely be loved by the recipient!! All of the quilts are beautiful and I may just have to try a few of those designs!! My dad is on hospice, so it is near and dear to my heart!! Teal is my favorite color to work with right now.
You are so generous – quilting for Hospice. What a great quilt though I love all the blue projects. My favorite color is pink with blue running a close second. What I’ve noticed lately when pulling blues from my stash, is that I don’t have a good variety of blues. Of my, what’s a quilter to do but…buy some!
Wonderful quilt for hospice! Especially snuggly with the fleece backing to keep someone warm. I like to sew with blues and pinks. {not necessarily together}
My color used to be shades of red. But then a couple of years ago, I surveyed my stash and found I must really like blue instead! Guess a girl can always change her mind 🙂
I usually say I don’t have a favorite color because I love scrappy quilts. That is very true, but I am going to say Red because I have a red works UFO.
Hello! This quilt is just so pretty and I can only imagine how cuddly it feels with that nice backing. Someone in hospice will really enjoy and feel all the love you’ve sewn into it. I love to sew with anything bright – red, orange, yellow, green . . . all of them. ~smile~ Roseanne
I Love RED! But, I must admit your blue quilts are terrific! I’m certain your hospice quilt will be so well received. That is so thoughtful of you & many thanks for doing that, as well as sharing your inspiration & creativity with us all.
Beautiful quilt for someone who will really appreciate it. The flannel backing is perfect. Aqua is my favorite color. I think it’s a relaxing color.
The recipient of that lovely quilt is sure to feel very special when wrapped in it.
All of your blue quilts are so pretty. Great sewing for hospice as well. I love to sew with green, my favorite color, It just does not always fit every project though.
Thanks for sharing all of those wonderful BLUE quilts with the Hop!!
Your blues quilts are beautiful… I am a blue girl through and through! Thanks for sharing!!
What a beautiful way to start the year. Your giving heart is amazing and that quilt is too. I love teal and seem to go to it a lot. Thank you for joining the Winter Blues Blog Hop!
If I were to look at my stash, it would probably be blue. I love your quilt and I don’t think you should “apologize” for its classic style. That quilt will bring so much comfort to a patient, a family, and will also warm the hearts of caregivers and visitors. That is what matters.
Beautiful blue quilted projects and cute snowman. I like to sew with the color blue.

I don’t really have any particular favorite color. It depends on the project I’m working on.
Any color will do, as long as it fits the project. I do like red and blue right now.
I love all the jewel colors and darker shades.
I love you blue Hospice quilt. Thank you for sharing your projects. I love batiks. I love all colors, but my favorites are blues/greens.
Thank you for the giveaway and the opportunity to win
I love the quilt. Yes blue is my favorite quilt color. Who knew?
This is such a warm and sweet quilt that will surely be appreciated as a hospice donation. I love the beautiful fabrics you chose…thanks for sharing!
Wonderful quilts! Thanks for sharing the pics. I too like to work with blue fabrics. =)
This is a terrific project and it is okay when hops and pieces already started link up. Its a great pattern for a comfort quilt, and one that is so good to be reminded of.
Lovely quilt! it will bring someone much comfort and joy. I have been sewing with a lot of blues and greens lately. The promise of spring has me designing a brights quilt to finish out the rainy gray season.
Lovely quilt! I’m sure that the recipient will love to snuggle up in it. I seem to end up sewing blue quilts more than anything else, even though purple is my favorite color. Go figure!
Your blue hospice quilt is beautiful and I know someone will really appreciate it. Thanks for sharing your talent.
I love how a postage stamp quilt looks no matter if set in one hue (any shade of blue has to be perfect) and you can change up with setting and color swaps.
What a comfort to the recipient, that is really wonderful! Very pretty!
