End of June & a Winner

Industrious wouldn’t exactly describe my quilting progress this past month. There have been some big house chores, like power washing, and truthfully, I have been in a relaxed mode with my sewing this past month.  There’s surprisingly has been quite a bit of progress, though.  I got a quilt back from the long armer and did get it bound.  I’ve been working on a quilt for our bed – bigger than I usually do and although I love it and it’s exactly what I’ve wanted, it’s a bit boring (all 3 1/2″ squares). I also finally prepped and began to applique the fourth block of “Lolly Pop Trees.”

  1. Joyce, thank you, thank you, thank you for your completion of so many Hospice quilts. I’ve quilted very little last month but am getting back to it now. We have not met for since early May because of conflicts. I hope we can get back on schedule by the beginning of August. I have been working at home, but will pick up the pace next week.

The quilt retreat would be a treat. I will let you know something tomorrow, if that is okay, but I fully understand if the spot is already filled.

We are getting ready to contract for the hardwood floors tomorrow: dining room, living room, living room stairs and upstairs hall. Hopefully, the floors will be installed within the next two or three weeks. I’ll get a few area rugs, but have not shopped for those yet. A new living room couch at some point, then new blinds throughout the house.

You have me thinking about another quilt for our bed. I have fabric that I bought some years ago but have never made the decision on the final plan. Sometimes I look at my fabric stash and realize that I could teach a master class in procrastination…

I hope you and Bob have a very happy 4th of July!
