Leaping Lizards!

A couple of years ago Kaufman Fabrics generously donated “scrap” fabric to the Fairview Quilters, the group I work with to make Hospice quilts. I quickly grabbed the bright batik scraps and fun lizard fabric. Last year a quilt was made with some of the lizard fabric and I saved a few of the leftover blocks. At one of the Quilt & Sew-In retreats, attendees pieced strips of the bright batiks together. I brought it all home and played on the design wall.  I love the results!

There wasn’t enough left over to make another quilt wholly from the batiks, so I added large strips of a very bright orange. This should surely brighten someone’s day!

Both quilts were backed with fleece – so soft and cuddly. It feels so good to have these quilted, bound and ready to go!

  1. It is always fun to see familiar fabrics appear in a new setting. I love these! I didn’t make it to LNQ — a very long, busy day. I’ll get those labels to you.

  3. Hello! I think you did a fabulous job with these scraps. Someone will definitely love each of these quilts. I just adore the lime green on the back of the first one – it’s one of my favorite colors. ~smile~ Roseanne
