At my quilt guild monthly meetings, there is a table marked “free.” Often someone is cleaning up their scraps and patterns and occasionally someone cleans out their whole quilt studio and shares their unwanted excess with guild members. Such was the case with this quilt. Laurie brought a table full of goodies to be scooped up and I grabbed this pretty little blue and white.
Funny, I’m sure she started this many years ago. Her style and fabric tastes have changed so much. Although this quilt was almost completely finished, there it was, abandoned. There was just a little more quilting to do – easy echo quilting and some stitch in the ditch and then the binding. The binding was even already prepared!
This will make a nice little comfort quilt; a perfect size for for someone in a wheelchair. Thanks Laurie. So glad your efforts reached completion and some joy will be passed on.
Good Morning! Aww, I’m so glad you saved that quilt from being abandoned. It’s a little sad to think someone didn’t want to finish it, even if a style has changed. But now it will have a new life in a new home with lots of love. ~smile~ Roseanne
Joyce, it’s beautiful, so happy you brought it to life again! Seriously from maybe the late 90’s, it sometimes just takes someone else to take it to the finish line!
And I was glad to do it!
Oh….lucky for you…..jealous here
