Planning, pressing, cutting, pinning, sewing – I do truly enjoy all of these. Quilting not as much. But I also don’t want a closet full of flimsies! Most of mine go to the long arm quilter although I do enjoy free motion quilting table runners, table toppers and wall quilts. Most Hospice quilts I piece or are group pieced at retreats, I need to quilt myself. I am SO grateful to the friends who volunteer to long arm a quilt every so often – what a huge blessing! I recently shared three tops I made for Hospice and have quilted one.
I did wavy lines that cross over at various points and a free motion design in the small rectangles. How brave of me to show a close-up! The binding was done scrappy style with the leftover strips. I like the look and am always pleased when one of these is complete because of where it’s going. An extra big Thank You to Pineapple Fabrics for providing all of the fabric for this quilt.
Good Morning! This quilt turned out so cute. I love your backing fabrics – well, all of them actually but especially the backing. Your quilting looks fabulous, I think – I love the look of random wavy lines, crossing wily nilly. ~smile~ Roseanne
