This past Thursday to Sunday was the annual Quilt & Sew-In in Blowing Rock, NC. Is there a better word for “fun” because that is what it was! Twenty Two gathered to sew, share, laugh and play. They came from Georgia, Ohio, Virginia and several towns in North Carolina!
Everyone wore the name tags I made. They are perfect for staying in a hotel. They have a pocket in the back to keep your room key. Remembering twenty-two names can be a bit daunting, so the name tags are a great help to everyone. Look for the tutorial for the name tags soon.
AND – there were prizes!!
And a great hotel staff that were so very helpful!
I am always in awe of how much these great sewers accomplish in three days. Whole quilts were put together! Everyone also got to enjoy some of the wonderful restaurants that Blowing Rock has to offer. We all went to dinner together on Friday night and had a blast. Many of us had “dinner” had Kilwins one night – the best ice cream and chocolates ever! And, of course, there was the shopping. Boone has two quilt shops, Sew Original and The Quilt Shop that offered us a 15% discount. Unwound, a yarn shop in Blowing Rock, also offered a discount. There are knitters in the group that took advantage of that also!
Take a look at the great fun and join me again November 10 through 13!
