Thanksgiving was forever ago – I am definitely behind! The day before Thanksgiving I decided I wanted a table runner. It needed to be really simple! I took a length of white burlap, evened the long ends and pulled threads to give it a little fringe. Warning – this is very messy. Really best to do outside. I pulled some batiks out, backed with fusible interfacing and cut leaves. I then glued with an “Okay to Wash” glue and used some copper metallic thread to paint leaves. Loved the final result and it was done quickly!
I also put together cute little clay pot turkeys for each place setting. All gone now, but each pot had a little packet of candy in it. Hubby really enjoyed that part! Now I need a Christmas table runner – “need” being the operative word here, but it will have to wait until next year. I have a somewhat involved pattern in mind that includes pretty poinsettias.
I’m working on a couple of gifts and did all my buying on the internet. I’m just waiting for a few more things to arrive and I’ll have a wrapping day. I wrap all my gifts one day and decorate them another. It has allowed me to really enjoy the process and make them all look pretty.
Hope all your holiday preps are going well!
Love the table runner and the turkeys. We’re you an event planner in another life?
Just in this life!
Genius leaf designs. Love that idea. Perfect for batiks!
